Start of construction of logistics hub for Westerman Multimodal Logistics in Laar (DE)!

We are pleased to announce that the groundwork has begun for the construction of a new hub at a strategic location in our Green Wagon Corridor, a network of rail-connected logistics hubs across Europe. A modern logistics centre is being built at GVZ Europark in Laar (Germany).
Commissioning is scheduled for November 2026, marking an important milestone in our logistics roadmap.

What willwe be doing in Laar?

  • Construction has started on a high-quality warehouse of over 55,000 m² with cross-dock facilities, featuring its own rail connection and located directly next to Euroterminal Coevorden;
  • This hub will be fully integrated into the Green Wagon Corridor: our sustainable corridor for rail-based storage and transport, connecting to Malmö (Sweden) and Verona (Italy);
  • The goal? To create a smart link between our Dutch operations and the Green Wagon Corridor, enabling goods to move through Europe faster, more efficiently, and with lower CO₂ emissions;
  • Lithium battery warehousing and transport: at least 20,000 m² of our storage capacity will be dedicated to this;
  • Dedicated charging infrastructure for electric trucks (BEV trucks).

What makes our concept unique?

  • In our Green Wagon Corridor concept, we combine rail-connected warehousing with multimodal transport (road/rail/water) across Europe;
  • Reduced dependency on road transport, achieving CO₂ reductions of up to 70%;
  • One integrated solution from shipper to receiver, including storage, cross-docking, and transport;
  • Strategically located right next to a rail combi-terminal and well connected to our hubs in Northern and Southern Europe: ideal for customers aiming to combine top logistics performance with sustainability.

For whom? For shippers who:

  • are ready to build a future-proof and sustainable supply chain;
  • are looking for high-quality storage options with direct links to rail, terminals, and multimodal transport;
  • want to benefit from the advantages of a spacious logistics hub with 50,000 m² of storage capacity by the end of 2026.
